Rain Pans
Rain pans are located at the top of a prefab fireplace to prevent water from entering the chimney chase and firebox. Rain pans are typically make out of metal or galvanized steel. They serve as the roof for your chimney chase. We receive many calls from customers who tell us they are getting water leaks in their fireplace. Most of the time, we find that the rain pan has rusted out or has a hole in it. Sometime they can be repaired and fixed but other times a new rain pan is needed and installed to prevent future water damage.
